MEMBERSHIP NEWS
NOVEMBER 2007

Since the club has brought in additional revenues from timing races there have been some nice perks for club members.  Our holiday party is still only $32 per person.  This party is worth a lot more (see the enclosed flyer on the party).  Please do Estella a big favor by getting in your reservations and payments on time.

We are also nearing the end of the year and it will be time to collect dues from most of our members.  The dues are still $20 for a single and $25 for a family membership.  All checks for membership and the party should be made payable to the Bohemia Track Club and sent to Estella Clasen, 3 Cedar St., Bellport NY 11713.

We had a great showing at our last meeting with about 30 members attending.  Let’s keep it upby getting to our meeting on Nov. 21st.  Hope to see you there.

Rob’s Run – the club will pay for all team entries to Rob’s Run.  Come to the November meeting and join a team!  The run is Sunday, Nov. 25th

WINTER INDOOR SEASON

Suffolk Community College at the Brentwood campus is the site for indoor track and field meets.  December 16, January 13, February 10 are the three dates confirmed for this indoor track season.  We need four males and four females for the relays to win the Soar Foot Relay Trophy again to maintain our hold on that coveted trophy.  Any four men and any four women in each of the dates stated should commit to running the relays to insure we win and earn the trophy again.  These meets are all held on Sundays.

Individuals are responsible to pay for their events while the club pays for all the relays.  Running indoors offers a break from road races and cross country races.  Let the fun begin!

BOHEMIA BUCKS

It has been decided that the club will reward members who volunteer to help time races.  We have timed two races recently and they are the first to be included in this new plan.  Beginning with the Brightwaters Pumpkin Run and then including the Vets Day Run at Smith’s Point members have begun to earn rewards.  Members who have worked both events have earned a free ticket to the Christmas Party.  Members who have worked one race have earned half a singlet.  In the future we will also include free registration to any of our our club sponsored races (Buddy Run and Elite Race).  Working at either of the club-sponsored races is not included in this offer.  That is just being a good club member.
